We are delighted to share that our Attendance Challenge continues to go from strength to strength! Thanks to the consistent support of families and the dedication of our staff, we have seen record improvements in student attendance this term. Regular attendance is crucial for your child’s learning and wellbeing, and it is wonderful to see so many students coming to school ready to learn each day. Parents of children who are not attending regularly will soon receive letters via Compass, outlining their responsibilities under the School Education Act in relation to attendance. These letters aim to ensure that all students are attending school as prescribed and receiving the full benefit of their education.
Looking ahead, our P&C Fathers’ Day Stall is coming up in Week 7. This is always a popular event, giving students the opportunity to select special gifts for the fathers and father figures in their lives. Keep an eye out for flyers from the P&C with all the details, including the date, times, and suggested price range for gifts. We thank the P&C team in advance for organising what promises to be another fun and memorable event for our students.
My thanks to Ms Hardman, Miss O’Halloran, Mrs Walker, Mr McNess, Mrs Booysen and Mrs Henderson for taking a group of selected students to the Resources Technology Showcase at the Perth Convention Centre. The event provided a fantastic hands-on STEM experience for our students, exposing them to cutting-edge technologies and inspiring their curiosity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A special thank you also goes to Transperth for helping our students use the new Thornlie train service safely and efficiently, ensuring they arrived at the event on time and ready to learn.
As we head towards the end of Term 3, we wish all our students, families, and staff a smooth and enjoyable finish to the term. We have the Athletics Carnival to look forward to, which promises to be a day full of energy, excitement, and friendly competition. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community – it is what makes our school such a vibrant and welcoming place to learn and grow.
